2022 Vietti Barbera d'Alba Scarrone Vigna Vecchia Woodenbox

Vietti
A distinguished Barbera d'Alba from Vietti's prized Scarrone Vigna Vecchia vineyard, this 2022 vintage showcases the elegance and depth that Piedmont's most celebrated red grape can achieve. Crafted with meticulous attention to sustainable viticulture, this wine reflects Vietti's commitment to quality and environmental stewardship.

The 2022 Vietti Barbera d'Alba Scarrone Vigna Vecchia is a full-bodied red wine from Piedmont, Italy, crafted from Barbera grapes sourced from a single cru vineyard in Castiglione Falletto. This wine displays a ruby purple colour with pronounced and intense aromas of ripe red and black cherries, blackberries, spices, and hints of tar and violets. On the palate, it offers rich tannins, refreshing acidity, and intense fruit character. The wine is aged for 16 months in oak, comprising 10 months in barrique and six months in botti. With 15% alcohol content and a 750ml volume, this wine is presented in a wooden box case format. It pairs well with duck, goose, and game birds, and has received critical acclaim with a score of 94 points.

Producer Profile
This Scarrone Vigna Vecchia represents our philosophy of minimal intervention winemaking, where the vineyard's natural expression takes precedence. We employ precision viticulture techniques to reduce chemical inputs by 80–90%, allowing the soil's inherent character to shine through in every bottle. The result is a wine of authenticity and terroir-driven complexity.
