The 2015 Henschke Mount Edelstone Shiraz originates from a historic single-vineyard site in Eden Valley, South Australia, planted in 1912 and first bottled as a single-vineyard wine in 1952 by Cyril Henschke, marking over a century of heritage by this vintage. This rich and intense Shiraz displays deep crimson-purple hues with complex aromatics of violets, dark plums, blackberries, sage, and black pepper, alongside a palate of pure blackberry and plum fruit, savoury spices, fine silky tannins, and exceptional balance. Distinctive for its Eden Valley terroir expression, it combines muscular power with elegance, freshness, and profound ageing potential of 20 years or more, as noted in an exceptional vintage.

Very deep crimson in colour with a trace of purple rim, the bouquet bursts with sage, crushed black pepper, bright plum, blueberry and blackberry fruits, florals, cedar and truffly notes. The palate is richly textured yet elegantly poised, layering vibrant wild berries, spices, silky tannins and high acidity for exceptional length and a lingering finish of black pepper and savoury herbs. Seamless and complex, it evolves with dark chocolate, earth and fine velvety structure.

The 2015 vintage at Mount Edelstone was a fairy-tale year, with consistently superb seasons delivering impeccable balance and near-perfect ripeness to our century-old Shiraz vines. We crafted this wine to showcase its pure, complex aromatics of violets, dark plums, blackberries, sage, and black pepper, alongside a palate of rich fruit, rosehip florals, savory spices, and silky tannins that linger beautifully. Our philosophy honours the vineyard's historic terroir, producing an elegant yet powerful Shiraz with decades of ageing potential.
